Before traveling, talk to your doctor about the amount and type of medication to be taken. Your doctor will also provide you with a medication plan for the trip upon request. Be aware of possible time changes in other countries. Also, if possible, take a little more than the required amount of the medication with you so that you have a reserve for unforeseen events.

Medication may also be carried in hand luggage in larger quantities than the usual 100ml for liquids. Also syringes (which are considered dangerous objects), as well as narcotics or strong painkillers, you may take in your hand luggage. In any case, however, there must be a medical necessity. In order to avoid possible misunderstandings with the security personnel in advance, we recommend that you consult your doctor. He or she can issue a medical certificate for the trip.

The Cube is specially designed for use in hand luggage. You only need to ensure that the cold packs have been properly prepared. To do this, pre-cool the batteries for at least 8 your in their freezer (usually -18° C). Note that each freezer device is different, and the prepare-time may differ.

Note: The liquid in the cold packs should be solid after cooling, only then the cold pack is frozen and ready for use. Allow the cold packs to defrost before use. Once the indicators on the packs change color and the hook becomes visible (approx. 30 minutes) placing the drugs in the Cube is possible. This way, you prevent the medications from freezing.

Hint: Simply use the TempBeacon (thermometer) to check your temperature in the refrigerator. Using the Tec4App (available on Android and iOS), this can be read on any cell phone and the temperature can be tracked in your app. This way you can ensure that the cold packs have been pre-cooled at the correct temperature for the correct period of time to guarantee the maximum runtime.

The Cube will maintain the temperature of 2° – 8 °C for at least 60 hours regardless of whether the outside temperature is higher or lower. Note, however, that this is for a closed Cube. Therefore, never open the lid more than necessary to guarantee the longest possible runtime.

With the Cube system, you also receive a temperature data logger and access to the associated app. You can simply read it out with your smartphone via a QR code scan. In the app, we show you the measured temperature and warn you if the temperature is exceeded. You can also conveniently download the measured data in a log as a PDF.

Note: Place the TempBeacon near the medicine inside the cube. This way you will get the most accurate result of the temperature measurement.

In this case, contact the manufacturer of the drugs and ask for stability data of the respective drug. You can also download the temperature report from the Tec4App and send it to the manufacturer for verification if necessary.

You can rent the Cube for as long as you like. The shortest rental period is 7 days.

The Cube is conveniently delivered to your home (delivery at least 2-3 business days before your departure). You will receive it via your local parcel delivery service. So you can prepare the cold packs in the fridge in time before your trip. You will also receive a tracking link to trace your shipment when it is shipped.

The return label is included in your shipment, so you can easily return the Cube via your local parcel carrier. Simply send the package within 5 days after your trip to the following address: Otto-Hesse-Straße 19, 64293 Darmstadt, Tec4med Lifescience GmbH.
